  • Transformation

    February 17, 2017
The Greek philosopher Heraclitus is quoted as saying, “Change is the only constant in life.”

There are some things that have changed recently at New Vision:

Cyrus Nix is the newest Leadership Board Member, having been elected to the position at the member’s meeting last month.  We are excited to welcome Cyrus to the Leadership Board!  He joins Pastor Carlene, Greta Lee, and Dan Elsner as servant leaders continuing to guide the church in seeking God’s plans and purpose for New Vision.

    West Coast 2017
    Recalibration Cohort

New Vision Fellowship has been chosen as one of 37 churches across the nation to participate in the Free Methodist denomination’s multiplication plan.  Pastor Carlene is participating as a member of the West Coast Cohort. Be in prayer as God equips our church in the next step in his plan for our growth!

We welcome Marcus Winston into the position of interim worship director!

Marcus is a gifted, experienced worship leader and we look forward to the changes this transition will bring to our Sunday morning worship experience!

Tara Spitzzeri is now working as our part-time church secretary and is available to assist with any administrative needs at New Vision.  You can reach Tara by emailing her at churchoffice@vision1.org or by calling the church at 503-641-5305 and leaving a message.  She is looking forward to serving New Vision in her new capacity!

Tara is replacing Elisabeth Davis as the church secretary.  Elisabeth started a full-time job for a major corporation last fall and feels it is time to pare her life down to just one job!  Thank you, Elisabeth, for the work you have done to maintain our office at New Vision!

We are excited about the changes that are taking place at New Vision because it means that God is continuing to shape us and mold us as we grow in our faith.

In the midst of change the one constant is our sovereign God!
  • It’s Never Easy to Say Goodbye

    February 15, 2017
Pastor Doug and Jan Balzer will be moving on in their call to full-time ministry this month. Doug and Jan are greatly loved and an important part of our church family, and we are blessed to be able to send them out from New Vision to expand their ministry.  The love, service, and leadership that both Doug and Jan have shared with us for over two years will leave a lasting mark on our church.

We will have a special time in our service on February 19th to send them off with our prayers, blessings, and love.  This is definitely a time of faith building for us all.
God Bless You, Pastor Doug and Jan!
